I don't think the barangay officials of Imus are aware of the clean air act. In our barangay, Medicion 1C, people are so used to burning their own garbage.
We moved to Imus about 3 years ago mainly because of the fresh air - my son is asthmatic. It was a big mistake. Everyday we have to bear the smug from burning leaves and garbage. Last Holy Week, I was looking forward to a restful holiday but just became very disappointed.
Complaining to the Barangay Chairman is futile. Before I asked for help because a neighbor was almost killing each other but he just ignored me. He said "hayaan mo kung magpatayan sila para matapos na."
I hope there's an education drive specifically at the Barangay level. I don't want to be the one having to call their attention every time and be known to be the prissy neighbor.
